Mr. Vonnegut

Lately, I have been trying to write short stories. It has been a very difficult process because I start off with all these great ideas or (ideas that I think are great) but when I am trying to put them on paper my hand does not to want to move.
In addition, I get easily distracted and in this "momentary" distraction I came across Vonnegut's Bagombo Snuff Box, and I knew I had to stop and give thanks to the great Mr. Vonnegut. The stories which were all written early in his career reminded me of why I wanted to write. He writes stories that range from beings in space to ones that deal with future devices that help one with their memory, but they all have a message. He has a weird way of bringing in the reader and teaching them a lesson. Not one that is so obvious, because he wants you to think. And I love that about him. He writes about real issues through not so real situations. Anyways through his stories I was able to find a way to finish my story. He is definitely a writer I emulate and can only hope to be 1/10 as good as he. Thanks Mr. Vonnegut!
